Accessibility Statement

Last updated: June 2026

Teaching Disability Awareness is committed to making this website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. Accessibility is not an afterthought here — it is central to our mission.

Our commitment

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. This includes making our content perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for all users, regardless of ability or the technology they use to access the web.

What we have done

We have taken the following steps to improve accessibility across this site:

  • All images include descriptive alternative text.
  • The site uses semantic HTML with proper heading hierarchy.
  • Navigation is keyboard-accessible.
  • Colour contrast ratios meet WCAG AA standards throughout.
  • Font sizes are set in relative units so they scale with browser text size preferences.
  • Interactive elements have visible focus states.
  • The site is tested on both desktop and mobile devices.

Known limitations

This site is built on Squarespace, which means some aspects of the platform are outside our direct control. We are aware that third-party embeds and some Squarespace-native components may not meet full accessibility standards. We are working to minimise these limitations wherever possible.

Assistive technology

This site has been tested with common screen readers and is designed to work with assistive technologies including screen readers, voice input software, and keyboard-only navigation.

Feedback

Accessibility is an ongoing commitment and we welcome feedback. If you experience any barriers while using this site, or if you need content in an alternative format, please contact us at: amandagrace1597 [at] gmail [dot] com

We will do our best to respond within five working days and to resolve any issues as quickly as possible.

Third-party content

Some pages link to third-party websites including Amazon, publisher sites, and external resources. We cannot guarantee the accessibility of those sites and encourage you to contact those providers directly if you encounter barriers.
